Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results of patients who had extended total extraperitonial mesh repair for hernias in the ventral abdominal wall. Materials and methods: After obtaining the participants' informed agreement, the researchers enrolled a total of two hundred patients in the trial, split them randomly into two groups of one hundred patients each, and compared the immediate results of eTEP and IPOM Plus procedures. Included in the Eligibility Criteria are: Adult patients who presented with primary ventral or incisional hernial defects, a midline defect of size that was equal to or less than 7 centimetres, elective hernia repair, considered eligible for hernia repair through a minimally-invasive approach, able to tolerate GA, and able to give consent for participation in the study. The diagnosis was arrived at with the assistance of a comprehensive medical history, a clinical examination, and information obtained from the appropriate authorities on past surgical treatments.
