Background and Purpose: Diabetes type 2 (adult-onset diabetes) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels. Piperine is an alkaloid compound found naturally in black pepper has antioxidant properties, which means it can aid in the fight against oxidative stress and Inflammation. Some preliminary in vitro and animal studies indicate that may have insulin-mimicking properties. Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes are both linked to chronic inflammation. The aim of this study was to examine the anti-diabetic activity of formulated piperine phytosomes in an in vitro glucose uptake assay.
