Abstract

Objective The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of licorice mouthwash on plaque accumulation in high caries risk individuals. Materials and methods: A total of 81 participants categorized as high-caries-risk were selected and randomly allocated into three groups: G1 (brushing and flossing only), G2 (Chlorhexidine-Fluoride mouthwash), and G3 (licorice aqueous mouthwash). Plaque index scores were calculated and recorded for each participant at baseline and after one year to evaluate the effect of each preventive measure. Statistical analysis was done using the Kruskal-Wallis test to calculate significance between groups, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to identify the changes in PI scores after one year within each group.
