The unique structural features and powerful recognition capabilities of DNA allows us the assembling of artificial nanostructures on DNA molecules, including nanowire. In this work we investigated the reduction of silver and gold ions on DNA in the solution by ascorbic acid as a reductant using UV-VIS spectroscopy. Due to the different interactions of Ag+ and Au3+ ions with DNA, the reduction process is also different.Interaction of silver ions is characterized by inter-cross type of links with DNA
