A number of alkaloids with a known structure and a novel base, convolinine, were separated from the total alkaloids found in the aerial portion of Convolvulis subhirsutus growing in Uzbekistan. It was discovered that it is an N-hydroxyethyl derivative of convolvin with the structure ()-3-(3,4-dimethoxybenzoyl)-N-hydroxyethyl-nortropane based on spectrum data and X-ray diffraction studies.
