Abstract

The Indian labour market is multifaceted reflecting diversity in employment and workers. Broadly, the sector has been classified as organised/formal and unorganised/informal sectors. Wherein, informal employment is an integral fragment of the development of India and its predominance in the market reflects profound involvement in shaping the infrastructure and economy. The Casual Workers form part of the informal sector. These are the most deprived class of workers among all who are and have been socially and economically neglected. Neither do they have comprehensive protection under the labour laws, nor do they have specific legislation enacted for them which regulates their employment and safeguard their interest
