Abstract
Water is a precious, natural resources for the mankind and all living species of the world. The first basic need of human life on this earth is food and water is the most vital input for food production. There is ever growing demand for water all over the world. The per capita availability of water in a country indicates the quality of life of the people. The water resources available in Tamilnadu State are poor with the per capita availability being just 0.023 Mcft against the National average of 0.078 Mcft
