Abstract

Anxiety is a medical condition related to our psychological as well as physiological behavior having numerous characters like cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and somatic. The present study was based on a comparative phytochemical and anxiolytic screening of ethanolic extracts of leaves and flowers of Hibiscus rosa sinensis. Soxhlet extraction was done for flowers and leaves of Hibiscus rosa sinensis using solvent like ethanol at 60°C for 48hr. Phytochemical screening was performed for both the extracts and flavonoids was isolated utilizing TLC, Column chromatography and UV and FTIR spectrophotometry. Elevated plus maze and light/dark arena models were used for the pharmacological screening. In results, the percentage yield of Ethanolic flower and leaves extract of Hibiscus rosa sinensis were reported 2.98% & 8.3%, respectively
