Moreover the study also shows an insignificant gender difference on Anxiety but a significant gender difference in Self-esteem and Body Image with females being more concerned about the two. Conclusion: The study clearly indicates that a negative body image reduces the self-esteem and increases anxiety in adolescents and that a positive body image increases the self-esteem and lowers the anxiety. Also that body image and self-esteem is affected by gender and more so in the females as compared to males and gender has almost no significance for anxiety and can affect adolescent of any gender. The empirical study found a significant relationship between self-esteem, body image, and anxiety among adolescents. Specifically, the results indicated that low self-esteem and negative body image were significantly associated with higher levels of anxiety. The findings support the notion that self-esteem and body image are important factors in the development of anxiety in adolescents. Therefore, interventions aimed at promoting positive self-esteem and body image may have a positive impact on reducing anxiety levels in adolescents.
