Abstract

According to the 2011 census, women constitute 48.5% of the total population in India. In the changing dynamics of society, women's empowerment is highly relevant and vital. On the 82nd episode of Mann Ki Baat, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji also spoke on women's empowerment. Education not only helps women acquire self-confidence, but it also allows them to transform their social standing. Education empowers and promotes confidence in making better judgements. Skill and Micro Finance can help women become financially solid, so they are no longer reliant on others in society. Education for women entails education for the entire family. This paper puts forward how micro finance has received extensive recognition as a strategy for economic empowerment of women. This paper seeks to examine the impact of Micro finance with respect to poverty alleviation and socioeconomic empowerment of rural women. An effort is also made to suggest the ways to increase women empowerment.
